Long Shot Jr. were led to their 0.42 point victory by a 20.90 point effort from Matt Forte, who snuck past the Detroit Lions defense for 36 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 25 receiving yards. With this performance, Forte was the number 6 ranked running back for week 5. They also got help from a 20.00 point effort from Ronnie Brown, who beat the San Diego Chargers defense for 125 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 8 receiving yards.
"We've got the greatest fans in the world," Long Shot Jr. coach Ryan Stier said.
Grim Reapers were helped out in a losing cause by a 28.10 point effort from Andre Johnson, who beat the Indianapolis Colts defense for 131 receiving yards and 1 receiving td. With this performance, Johnson was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 5. They also got help from a 22.30 point effort from Steve Slaton, who got by the Indianapolis Colts defense for 93 rushing yards and 2 rushing tds in addition to 3 receiving yards.
"They just made the big plays and we didn't," Grim Reapers coach Dave Torreano said.
Causing further embarrassment, Grim Reapers could have scored 126.18 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Dave Torreano left key players like the Minnesota Vikings Defensive Team and his corresponding 9.00 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Long Shot Jr. to 3-2, and drops Grim Reapers to a record of 4-1.
Coming up in week 6, Long Shot Jr. are at the 2-3 IronPigs, where IronPigs are an early 4.7-point underdog, while the 4-1 Team MRC are at Grim Reapers, where Grim Reapers are an early 10.4-point underdog.
